• Scar formation is normal skin reaction after any Injury, or Surgery.
  • the problem happens when the formed scar is abnormal not normal one.

This may happen with anyone and is not related to the surgery itself or the surgeon,
it is individual variation according to the skin type and the risk of abnormal scarring increases with the following cases::

– Dark Skin
– Delayed wound healing
– High skin tension area
– History of abnormal scarring
– Young age

Abnormal scar types are either Hypertrophic scars which are elevated above the skin level, Atrophic Scars which are depressed below the skin surface and Keloid Scars which are Hypertrophic scars that continue to grow in size abnormally and needs special management.
